When I was teaching in Prague, my "in-country contact" (who was also my best friend!) taught me about "typical Czech pubs". He added the bit of wisdom that "It's OK for a Czech professor to stop off at the pub before going home after a hard day's work, but he should practice moderation. After six or seven beers he should go on home."

Typical Czech pubs serve the best beer in the world in half-liter cold mugs. Each brewery sends its own coasters to the pubs, and some of the pubs have their own as well. (How did that American coaster sneak in there!) Na zdraví!
